A light will help. Speed limit reduction in that area will help. I saw the crash as they were getting the man out the car. From the tire marks on the road looks like he was in the middle and maybe pulled out to far. Not running the stop sign. A slight mistake that could have been avoided easily with a light letting him pass straight through rather than being able to stop in the middle whenever you want.

There are rumble strips at this intersection. They were installed after another fatal wreck.

County oked the dollar general store,even when 95%plus
People at a packed meeting said NO.
And if allowed,put a traffic lite in first.
WAAWAA got a lite at PineForest before they opened on a BTTLENECK ROAD

This is similar to the ongoing debate about guns. The road and the intersection do not cause accidents and definitely doesn’t have the ability to kill or injure anyone. If people would be patient and would put the phone down and pay attention, people wouldn’t get hurt here. I’ve used this intersection frequently for the last 20 years and have never been in an accident there. Stop blaming a road design for other people’s poor driving habits. A light at this intersection will make it worse, not better.

When people ignore stop signs and blow through the intersection, how is a light gonna stop them? When the new apartments get built there a light will come pretty quick anyway. That still will not stop accidents. Look at 29 and atmore cut off.

IN response to the 1st poster, no one is “passing judgement”, BUT, we have the freedom to voice the obvious. How does anyone not stop at a stop sign, and drive into the path of cross traffic? Something is amiss there.

This was my brother that passed away this morning on this high way. For everyone saying he was under the influence… he wasn’t. People sound be more aware of what they say especially not knowing what really happened. Please be respectful during these hard times. For the people who lost their loved ones in this exact spot my condolences. And to my brother. You will be missed dearly.

New street lights have been installed at this intersection right after the last traffic death. You can see the stop signs in both directions. People need to pay more attention.

Always been a bad intersection,but it is now an awfull intersection. When the state reworked it,it made intersection a lot worse. I have watched several people pull out from the dollar general side all the way out into the south bound lane to stop and look for oncoming traffic. The amount of traffic on 29 now is unreal and we about to need a light at every intersection. The state must install some kind of bypass for thru traffic I have no idea what happens in this wreck,but I do know lose of any life is awfull. Praying for the family
