I miss Alabama Power —We NEVER had these ridiculous rates and constant increases —and solar power is INSANE – the amount of land that is needed for those hideous HUGE things AND you pay 2 bills buying the solar huge hideous big round monsters BUT you pay your power bill—it is a HUGE scam—the land they do not own then they pay rent for use GUESS who that gets passed down to???? My friend is still not only paying a $200+ for the equipment solar payment BUT her power bill – another $200+ or close to it for her power bill!! NO THANKS

Come on, everybody. Have some sympathy for the CEOs and tycoons in charge of FPL. If revenue falls, their income falls. Do you really want those poor souls to pay the same tax rate as you??? Have some decency!

Maybe, just maybe, the solar farms have nothing to do with your power bill and money hungry FPL is keeping your costs high…. Nah, FPL is known for it’s upstanding history and customer first policies. It’s definitely the solar farms fault!!!!!

I know where the solar farms are – they are hideous –and my friend that went on it-not only pays for the hideous panels (and there Is a lot of them) BUT still pays for her power bill—dso you have to have a LOT of money and or income to have it!!! I thought you went on it and that was your bill–WRONG

Fpl charges the highest rates in the country i feel. July and August they triple my bill. Last 3 years they have done this saying it’s higher demand. Its a scam. They are crooks. Will cut your power off for $50 . Florida needs to. Boycott them, but how? There needs to be another source for competition reasons. Why is n t there one?

My question is why do all this solar stuff wasn’t that suppose to cut our bill.I remember getting the letter saying how it was going to save us by building the solar farms,so far the only people I see profiting is FPL with tax incentives and other programs that helped pay for it, they want to keep pushing up rates and tell us its a deal .We heard that with the solar programs.

FPL’s net profit margin for 2024 was approximately 24.7% Their net profit for the full year 2024 was $4.543 billion, an increase from $4.251 billion in 2023. FPL’s parent company, NextEra Energy, had a net profit margin of 26.66% in 2024, compared to an industry average of around 12.80%.

This profit is obscene and can only happen because they operate a monopoly and consumers have no alternative.

There is no justification for yet another rate hike.

Now why would they work on solar anything when it would dramatically reduce their profits? It’s a joke. That’s why it’s still so expensive. Don’t expect to save any money, they’re going to hit you with increased costs coming and going.

Power companies in Florida have a fixed profit that is based off if expenditures. Thus, the only way to increase profit is to increase expenditures.

And thank to power companies being a state sanctioned monopoly, the law allows them to recoup every single penny they spend.

If they want to spend $10 billion on new projects, we, the customers, reimburse them that $10 billion plus their guaranteed profit.
