As a family member of this victim, maybe we should all just be in prayer for the family that lost a loved one. Be in prayer for this young girl involved. You never know the situation. This family has been through a lot of heartache and loss recently. You don’t know how traumatic this was for all involved. I see some “brave” keyboard warriors on here that need to keep their stupid comments and remarks to themselves.

@family. I remember seeing him on the lawnmower quite a bit while passing through and I never recall seeing him doing anything irresponsible.. In my opinion people either don’t think about how they say things or worse don’t care. My Condolences for your loss.

He had just ridden from his home, in the background of the pictures, to his nieces house to air up her tire. He had a wagon hooked to the back with an air compressor in it. He drove on the side of the road down to her house on Bogia Rd like he always does when he’s out picking up trash. On the way back, he got out in the highway and we are unsure why. It was not common practice for him to be in the highway. He would always be on the dirt beside the road and normally even had a safety vest on. We are all in shock that this tragedy happened. His 85 year old mother that he lives with stood by the road and watched her son die, so before judging, maybe you could show some grace and pray for his family and the girl involved. Her life is forever changed. She has a long road ahead and our family is praying for her.

Who drives a lawn mower on the hiway you ask. A man that might have lost his license for some reason or a man that is taking the wagon to a child or is picking up trash/ mowing the ditch along the frontage of his property, I mow my property frontage because the county only mows one mower width and leaves the rest to grow wild. I Ilive in a small village. The speed limit is 25mph for only 1/9 of a mile. Do you think
drivers obey those signs. With so muc traffic on 29 you must br aware of your surroundings.

It a sad day for all involved i really hate that this young Lady will think about this for along to come but as for the person on the lawn mower who knows what was going on the reason he was on the lawn mower . I do think it would be a lot better if he would have had lights but that doesn’t make him an idiot because that
maybe all he had to ride on .when your not in someone else’s shoes you just don’t know i will agre on one thing that road ain’t safe for a car anymore

Really? Who drives a mower up 29? There’s PLENTY of roadside and edge of asphalt to drive on! I want to know more on this story! And for this 18 year old to have to remember this for the rest of their life? Im sorry you have to go thru this because of some idiot!
