Put a “s” on the end of it and it will cover all of the America’s, both North and South. Otherwise, it’s still the Gulf of Mexico. Which in fact correct since it covers more of Mexico than the United States.

Now we see the major point of the name change. All the ordinances along our gulf that each city has that will now have to be reworked, many making it illegal to drill in the Gulf, which is probably the main reason that they did this. It’s not about patriotism, it is about getting rid of ordinances that our communities voted in to keep Florida safe and nice, that get in the way of private capital, it’s greed and destruction.

Here is the funny and sad part of this, we are The united States Of America, not America. We are one of 35 other countries in America including Mexico, America is a continent from the northern part of Canada to the tip of Chile. So changing to the Gulf Of America mean it the gulf of all the American counties which is not what the intent was. Ones again somebody didn’t do their homework. so we can go on waving our flag but there are 34 other that can clam it as their gulf also.

Gulf of Mexico first appeared on maps in 1550. Mexico has more coastline fronting the Gulf than does the USA. Renaming it was childish and not unexpected from the current POTUS.

The issue is that when Trump leaves office it’s very likely the name will be changed back to Gulf of Mexico, then all of this will have to be redone again. It’s best to just wait it out and see if it sticks.

As far as im concerned, it will always be The Gulf of Mexico.
