Someone just lost their son, their baby, their brother, their best friend and here you are in the comments blasting the parents. Tragic things can happen to ANYONE, to ANY family. I hope it never happens to you, but if it does i hope people treat you the same way you’re treating this family. Regardless of what time it was he was MURDERED. We shouldn’t be worried about being killed if we leave the house after dark, most of you are more concerned about why he was out late rather than the fact he was murdered.

@Campbell. When my kids were 17 I knew exactly where they were. As a matter of fact I knew where they were at all times. At that time of the night or morning they were home even in the summer when school was out. Most of all on Sunday they were in church. They are now grown up and I’m glad to say leading great productive lives. Parents need to step up and take hold of there kids to keep them safe. It seems to me that raising kids has been put on the schools to do it. It’s no one’s responsibility except the parents.

Unless working, or headed to an ER it’s hard to imagine why under age teens should be out that time of night….that area is also used for drag racing. No idea why/how this happened to this apparently promising young man but historically this road has been used for racing.

Thinking Outloud was simply saying parents should question why 17 year olds are out running the streets at 2 am. in the morning before tragedies like this happen. „Remember the news cast in the old days: it’s 10 pm- do you know where your children are? Nothing wrong with that !

How many of your parents knew where you were at at 17? This might be a great kid who was driving back from getting a burger. I’d save the judgments for when facts come in.
