I was a 2 yr graduate of the auto body program and that shop looks amazing. Auto body keep me in school and Mr Chandler was a huge part of that hope they find another teacher like him.

So excited to see this program begin in our schools. Much needed. A good “Automotive Technician” (aka mechanic) is hard to find these days. I agree with @rd about salary.

More of this please, and in all disciplines. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding are all skills we used to teach in high school but stopped when our industrial base was shipped over to China and elsewhere.

Good to see this making a comeback and I wish Tate High School and Escambia County both much success. The salary range may need some work to attrack the quality of mechanic the county is looking for.
