Thanks for the technical explanation but as a Century residentI can’t help feel this meeting violates the spirit of the law. How about this: our mayor invites our state representative to a PUBLIC meeting where they both can explain to me why the municipality of the Town of Century Florida remains in existence at all.

No, not at all. They don’t serve and vote on the same board…Century’s mayor does not vote at all. And the Sunshine Law is different for members of the legislature.

It’s very common for local officials at all levels to talk to state legislators.

The Sunshine Law would have been relevant if, for instance, two members of the town council went to lunch to discuss business.

Governor Ron DeSantis said it best about this one. Also some people burn bridges some make bridges and others meet to discuss ways to get money back to build the same bridges that they helped destroy. Always need nice walking shoes and an xtra pair for climbing. What about the poles in century can we get a few of those replaced too?
