I do not feel like a traffic light would be good there. They have already had so many accidents at the Molino crossroads, and at the atmore hwy crossroads, many people have died there. Quintet is on a curve, and going 65 o twy 29 that’s not a good idea. Maybe speed bumps on Quintete rd at both ends of the roadbetween hwy 29 and 95a .
And these kids think they know everything and they need to slow down and pay attention. I have 3 fixing to start driving and I talk to them all the time. About driving and when they think they know-it-all that’s what gets them killed, or hurt very badly and I don’t wanna see that happened to nobody. All people especially new drivers need to take there time , DONT GET IN A HURRY AND Attention. But I know many people have died. At molino crossroads and atmore highway crossroads since they put lights up and it’s sad and it’s wide open. You can see what’s coming and still bad wreaks

Inexperience was likely the issue but that’s just my opinion. But whatever the driver did wrong to cause the accident will be forever ingrained into him and he has gained wisdom for life.
I pray that all recover quickly.

A stop light will not fix the problem. I think we all know, not paying attention is the real culprit.
Many said a stop light at 29 and 97 would fix problems.
It didn’t.

I feel like this intersection needs a stoplight. Yes, the stoplight may slow traffic down a bit, but it would allow for safe crossing for those trying to get onto and off of Quintette, especially during rush hour traffic. A traffic light would make it safer. Take Palafox and old chemstrand for example : when it was a two way stop, there were constantly accidents happening at that intersection – ever since they added the stop light accident numbers have gotten way less there.
Personally I’d rather sit in a little extra traffic from a stoplight than keep risking accidents due to crappy intersections.

Bad intersection unfortunately feel like a light would be good there. Husband was hit there when a car was turning off 29 on to Quintette avoiding a pothole.

There is a hill and a curve at this point and the speed limit is 65 making it very dangerous.. there is not enough traffic from quintet to warrant a traffic light ..the solution is close off quintet road, no access to 29 at that point, there are several other roads to access 29 from the old highway..

I believe there is no extension of Quintete Rd. there. So, you either turn right or cross the North bound lane to turn South. If he stopped, then inattention was the big factor.
Young drivers have not learned to look both ways twice before entering an intersection.
Everyone has a blind spot and the first look can get you killed! Impatience is the root of most accidents in modern times! Slow down and look twice could keep drivers (and passengers plus innocent folks) alive!

Neighbor, you are correct on needing a stop light to slow traffic down so that cars can safely cross. This article states that the 16-year-old male driver of a SUV failed to stop at the stop sign. He did stop at the stop sign he just was unable to make it safely across.
