Second, there are 18 y/o's now who are in jail for gun crime even though the purchase age is 21; criminals are going to commit crime regardless of the law. He was state law enforcement at the time. He carried a state issued pistol, and had a shotgun and an ar-15 type rifle in his vehicle. Yet under the law, he wasn't responsible enough to purchase a weapon for himself at 20 years old. Make it make sense. I was in the Army at 17. By the time I turned 18, I had qualified on every machine gun and side arm the infantry used. But I couldn't buy a weapon for myself.
