That’s why you do not pay until the work is complete cause people
Will rip you off if you pay them up front nobody is honest anymore
To many crooks claiming to he contractors and they are not but rather thief’s and crooks

Many Many VERY GOOD and Honest Contractors in our area who go Above & Beyond to do good work and some few jerks, thieves, never-do-wells like this person and others put a nasty stain on the profession.
Perhaps instead of a slap on the wrist these scammers should spend some time doing hard work helping restore, rebuild, rennovate homes and shelters for those who cannot afford work on their own. Pay back with positive efforts rather than just a few dollars and go free.

What a weak individual and a thief. I hope the victim gets their money back and this guy gets his due (not pretty!). Sad but you can’t trust many people these days. God is watching!
