Shall not infringe
The constitution is the law of the land
Any infringement is unconstitutional (Marbury v. Madison) and will be met with self defense (Andrew coffee v. State of Florida)

Because when you travel you still need a permit in a lot of States. I went to the WW2 museum in New Orleans, right after the terror attack. I went in, showed my permit, signed in and was allowed to carry at the museum. Had I not had it, I would have had to walk back to hotel and secure it.

Why? No need for a permit in Florida anymore. Or Alabama. Or Georgia.

I Don't Have A Permit, What Should I Know?

You must still meet the requirements of 790.06 with the exception of training and obtaining a concealed carry permit. All of the other requirements & prohibitions still apply to carrying a concealed weapon in Florida.

You must be at least 21 to carry a concealed weapon.
Never been committed for substance abuse or other similar laws.
Do not chronically or habitually use alcoholic beverages or substances.
Desire a legal means to carry for self defense.
Never adjudicated as incapacitated person or similar laws.
Have not been committed to a mental institution.
No prior felony convictions or withheld adjudication.
Have no current domestic violence injunctions.
Is not prohibited by state or federal law from possessing weapons.
Over three years from any past crime of violence.
Not charged with a pending violation that prohibits weapon possession if convicted.
Can not carry in any of the 15 places prohibited by Florida law.
Avoid the exclusions for a Florida concealed weapons permit.
You must review 790.06 and determine if you are eligible to carry.
You cannot open carry firearms in Florida.
You cannot carry a firearm within 1000 feet of a school.
You cannot carry a concealed weapon within a pharmacy.
You must carry valid state issued identification on your person
You must provide identification to law enforcement upon demand.
A person at least 18 can only carry within a vehicle if the weapon is securely encased, not readily accessible, and not carried on your person.

Florida law provides for a $25 civil penalty for failing to carry and produce identification when carrying without a permit.

This is a sample of the requirements for permitless carry of a concealed weapon. You should not rely on this shortened information to make a decision on your ability to carry a weapon. Consult with an attorney or just apply for a license and let the state decide.

The Florida Tax Collector Association has worked for the last several years to update our concealed weapon services. This new process allows for a "Duplicate" for lost or stolen licenses and a "Replacement" for name or other changes. We will soon offer new services for security guard licenses as well. This will allow these licensees to obtain and renew a guard license at a local office instead of traveling to Ft. Walton.

A duplicate license requires a notarized affidavit for processing. We have a template affidavit available on our website and we can notarize the completed form in our office. There is also a replacement license form available which does not require notarization. Appointments are encouraged for concealed weapon transactions.
