@JJ, you think this person on a motorcycle would have went through a check point? These people on bikes rarely stop for blue lights and sirens, much less drive up to a check point lol . And check points are not just a second thought, there’s much more than most know a huge pile of red tape .

1. Anyone driving with this combination of violations, knows exactly what they’re doing. We live in a society that often looks the other way on what’s considered a minor infraction.
2. Nobody seems to care about the NON-motorcycle driver and the psychological toll these accidents take on them. I’m licensed for both and can’t stand all the antics I see from Riders of ALL ages. Let’s face it; some people are just irresponsible.
3. Road checks likely wouldn’t stop this as they wouldn’t be conducted on this road and anyone knowing they have a suspended license, no tag and driving at night without a headlight on is going to figure out a way around that road check.

..I have had 3 motorcycles in my life and loved riding ..once from California to PNS..But with today’s increased traffic and so many distracted drivers and “kamakazees”
driving , if I still had one , I would invest in those
Bright , blinking lights as a headlight and high vision tail lights as well…I think this would save a lot of riders..

@ JJ…. Marvelous idea. I remember the days of sitting in traffic a little longer for license and insurance verification. Quite a few accidents and arrests are made with charges including driving while license suspended. Anyone have an idea why those verification stops are no longer performed?

CHECK FOR PROPER INSURANCE,TAGS AND LICENCE

“Look twice for motorcycles”

All too familiar bumper stickers. There are more cycle riders showing out, speeding, driving on the center lane between two lanes of traffic (allowed in California and not Florida). I see this constantly on I-10. In the case of this one, why would you risk your life because you have no headlights on, suspended license, and no tag? Oh, I understand now, you were disobeying the law and had to do it at night to keep from being seen. You just got caught and matters could have been worse for you.

Anonymous is correct. Not always the other vehicles’ fault.

This shows that it is not always the other vehicles fault. There are way to may motercycle riiders that cause these accidents, I have seen too many “showboating” and driving without care because they want to prove they can. I hope all involved are ok, but motorcyclist need to use more caution also.
