There should be no new houses until the infrastructure is fixed Pine forest is a mess. When are you gonna fix that? You just keep adding houses and businesses but you don’t add infrastructure to support it. This is really bad city planning. Hopefully the newly elected commissioners can make some changes and soon before any more houses are built.

This is horrific news. I thought the McKenzie property was being marketed as 5 acre + estate properties. DR Horton is going to build more urban low quality homes like they have done with the Sanctuary off 95a. They need to be stopped from turning our beautiful area into a slum.

I pray this does not happen. This area is already overcrowded with people just trying to go to work takes forever to get out on Highway 95a from McKenzie every morning I just sit and wait and wait and wait on traffic. I don’t know who’s running the show on all of this but somebody needs to step up and stop it; our area is getting way too overcrowded.

That land has been used for logging for years and for hunting. As a teenager I roamed that area. It is subject to flooding more than the 43 acres. you do not have to go far in from McKenzie to see flood water. It is better suited for wildlife conservation, timber, recreation. The road systems cannot support that much more traffic. The support systems for all these developments {about 30000 proposed houses, some already being built in Quintette, Cedar Tree and other proposals} has not even been proposed yet.
Wizard:: I liked your comment. i remember that house. The Commings and Mckenzie
families were early settlers there. When I grew up in Cottage Hill, it was mostly dirt roads and few houses.

That entire planned area is zoned Low Density Residential. I thought zoning laws were there for a reason. The loss of quality of life and land destruction caused by utility lines cutting through residents properties, will be substantial. There is also the horrific environmental damage to consider.

It,s sad what the Pensacola has become—a hub for all of America. Commissioners are all to willing to destroy what once was a beautiful part of our country. Developers dollars buy whatever they want and you my friends continue to vote for the same people. Count yourself as lucky if you live or own a little piece what was once Pensacola.

How do you suppose 95A to Four lanes
29 to six when Pine Forest is only 3 lanes north of I-10 to 9 mile…. And this needed fixing long before all the growth on nine mile( including the giant apartment complexes!!!!

Horace Jones no longer allows the public to attend the Initial Application for Development Review. The public can attend the Final Application but at that point, things are pretty much set in motion.
