Just to be clear, if he murdered small children on weekends, it would not concern you?

I don’t think he did but I cite it as an action most people would disapprove of. Would that also be hunky dory with you or is it only that you find acceptable the listed actions?

McCarthy put à reverse cause and effect interpretation on it. He maintained Matt had him removed from the position of Speaker of the House because McCarthy refused to shut down the investigation into his many the violations of the ethics rules. Eight members of the Make America Great Again Party joined with Democrats to remove McCarthy because McCarthy wouldn’t cover his evil

Clearly, no one commenting is reading the report, they’re just knee-jerking straight to judgment. It is a lengthy report that I am still reading, but here are some concerns I have thus far:
(1) Dates – read just the first three paragraphs of the Procedural History on Page 3.
The DOJ stopped the Committee’s investigation for three years, from 2021 to 2023, and determined that all criminal allegations were false.
Even though the Chairman & Ranking Member reauthorized the matter in 5/2023., the Committee didn’t get around to picking it back up again until the middle of 2024, which was around the time that Gaetz was raising a ruckus and getting McCarthy booted as House Speaker. Was it ginned up as a weapon to use against him, maybe?
(3) The decision to release the report was not unanimous.

This whole thing smells to high heaven, no matter what political party you’re affiliated with!

Gaetz does have to go, although he may take half of the ship with him. The Demorats have opened the door for the Ex-Presidents to be prosecuted, this could go on for years, Clinton, Bush, and Obama should be looked at.

I don’t know what happened, but I do know that the folks who are making the accusations against him are skunks. In my view, you often can tell more about a person by who his enemies are than by anything else. In Washington, Getz’s dog doesn’t even like him. Getz may be a coke snorting, cradle robbing, whore mongering jerk, but he pisses off a lot of skunks. Now, the skunks have made accusations that he is a coke snorting, cradle robbing, whore mongering jerk in a forum where he can not defend himself.

So, I may be wrong, but I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt. He was our rep here in Western Florida. If there is evidence enough to charge him, then charge him and make your case in a court of law where the accused have rights. There is a reason that they have only charged him in a public forum where he is defenseless and will be gleefully lynched by very serious and deeply troubled anchors on the nightly news. If there isn’t evidence enough to charge him, they should not have released the report. That is 100% a political move.

It sure is illustrative to see so many people who espouse “conservative family values” turn a blind eye to a preponderance of the evidence.

Matt Gaetz has admitted to behaviors that would have never been acceptable in the past to the people defending him today.

Wow! The transparency demonstrated in some of these comments is breathtaking. It’s clear for some that law and order is only lip service. When you determine your degree of acceptance of illegal behavior based on someone’s political party, you’re no better than a third world / authoritarian citizen. Shame on anyone defending this alleged behavior.
