Everyone in these comments once moved out here yourself. Those of us who have been here all alone could have said the same things and made the same arguements about all of you. You wanted it for yourself but not for anyone else. maybe some soul searching for all you who comment about density and traffic and infrastructure. You were one the problem yourself.

Devine Farms Rd can’t handle anymore development.
The traffic is already out of control. It takes 30-45minutes to get 8 miles in the morning.
When will someone care enough about the current residents.

Some common sense is required here. First - Are that many homes really needed here or is this case of “build it and they will come”? What happened to zoning? Why bother to zone if exceptions are made for every application? Children need schools, buses, etc. Those will come from where? Will the job market support that many new workers? The county only needs just so many burger flippers and DON’T say Navy Federal Credit Union. What about water, natural gas and sewer? Is the power grid sufficient? From experience - I DON’T have a lot of faith in FPL. Most importantly in my opinion - if some of the property has been designated as wetlands, aren’t they protected under state law? They provide a natural filtration for water supplies and habitat for animals. This needs serious thought, NOT “good ole boy politics” with cash in a collard pot.

Those of you complaining about growth and someone choosing to maximize profits must ask yourself,
Am I a Communist?
Am I trying to control what someone does with something that I do not personally Own?
Is it their private property, or is it community property?

Of course the answer is no because you are a true American and understand things such as property rights and freedoms.

If you want to control how the land is developed, nothing is stopping you from buying it.

Until then, you are literally screaming into the void.

If you want to do something useful, then convince the Commissioners to change the codes to increase the minimum size of the lots in this zone.

With so many acres & homes why not leave a couple of acres open for a walking track, playground & other common area activities?

To many house for that much land. No one wants to live on less than half an acre and really shouldn’t be living with less than an acre. This forces people to see the grocery stores and give you no room to grow your own. Building this close also pretty much guarantees all the wildlife will be forced out. Leave the land alone

Does anyone care about the existing property owners on Devine Farm Road? The front door of their homes are about 30 feet away from the asphalt. What is the LDC planning Board doing to protect people. Devine Farm Road is going from what was a light traffic road to an intermediate volume road. Require a traffic study and the impacts that this development has will need to be mitigated as part of the development order.

Commissioner Barry and the rest of the County Commissioners!!! Why don't you make the developers pay for the roadway widening, traffic lights, etc. that are necessary to accomodate all of these developements!! This should not be on the backs of the rest of the County! Growth should pay for growth!

Again, no infrastructure to cover this many houses! Traffic is already bad and dangerous at Devine and that’s the only way in or out! Can you imagine over 400 cars trying to get out for work in the morning?? What about school buses? Use your brains people, not your wallet!!!

70% of the homes will have 2 cars, 465 more vehicles to plug up an already messed up commute using 97 and 297A and other tributary roads. Widening Define Farm Road is not the answer, building else where is best.
