Assuming you mean thieves, I doubt Dollar General knew at the time they were thieves. Anyone who knew but gave a good reference is partially to blame, but I’m with Mike and my beloved Ronald Reagan on this. Criminals who plan and conspire to commit crimes are responsible for their own actions. Even if a hundred people tell you it’s okay, it is still YOUR decision.

Well, sir, to be fair, as a business owner, I care about my employees, but if they “got anything to do with loss of funds” you’d better believe that I’m firing them and pressing charges! WHY would I value an employee who is stealing from me??? “Nearer my God to thee”? How about “Thou shalt not steal”?

yep, they will fire you in a heartbeat if they figure you got anything to do with loss of funds, they don’t care.must lose a lot of employees that way. Never missed a day’s work with DG.Hopefully they will value their employees more. Nearer my God to thee.

Susie, can you explain what you mean by “these kind of people”? How exactly should DG have known beforehand that she was “this type”? By looking at her? Judging her because of her outfit the day of her interview? The color of her skin? Maybe they should have asked in the interview if she was a thief. I’m sure she would have been honest. Smdh

The decision to steal was made by the people in this case, not the company who is the victim in this case. Don’t blame the greater group because it has the larger funds available. Blame the people who decided to commit theft and therefore become criminals.

Maybe someone deserving can be hired instead of someone who obviously doesn’t appreciate having a job. Is being a thief worth this? Embarrassment, no income, criminal record!!! I really don’t believe people think ahead of the opportunities of bad behavior!! That’s why clrime doesn’t pay. I feel sorry for their families.
