I do not like the correct striven error either. It's absurd. I could see updating spending limits but not to bypass government procurement processes. When we received our bill last month our gas usage was double what it usually is. Called town hall about it and was told I wasn't the only one with an issue. Guy came out to reread meter and checked for leaks. No leaks. And town hall told me they couldn't adjust my bill because the meter numbers made sense. Had to go on a payment plan. Not sure what happened but had a phone call priot asking us if we would read our own meter and call it in then later got the nasty letter. We are not going to leave our gates unlocked 24/7. They could schedule it and have access. The other meter reader could lean over and take off the lid and read it the water and see the gas meter from the sidewalk. We have never been late and never caused any problems. We stay way from there and Mind our own business. Voted no. Hope the letter went to the entire town, not just us. It was not received well. Of course if other people are cheating it should be the meter readers do their jobs. Honestly, I think it's a problem with long term staff not doing a good thorough job over the years. Perhaps sitting around a shop waiting for a work order instead of taking responsibility and being proactive If they wanted the charter changed, they should have gone through the steps correctly.
