It's possible the carrier delivering your mail today has never even been down your road before. It also doesn't help when many people do not have any visible numbers on their mailbox or their house. When you have several houses in a row that don't have numbers, sometimes the carrier has to make a guess and hope it's right. And @ OhYouKnow... Rural carriers do not have uniforms, they wear their own clothes, and sometimes use their own vehicles. You are thinking of city carriers. It's totally separate. I can tell you each office is like a separate entity, even though it has USPS sign out front. The blame of these issues fall directly on the Postmaster at that location. It sounds like that Postmaster is running employees off. It is a common problem at the Post Office because the Postmaster has very high authority with plenty of leeway to run his facility. My post lady of 15-20 years is VERY kind, sweet and considered part of the family. She is so in-tuned with her customers, she knew something was wrong with my aunt after not seeing her tending to her flowers for 2 mornings in a row. She called for a wellness check and my aunt was found deceased. She cares so much about her customers she takes heavy packages and puts them in easy places to get to for a friend in a wheelchair who lives alone. This is a spotlight on what a mail person should be to their community, this is the classic Mayberry hometown mail person. I will be despondent to ever see her retire.
