@BGH2, I agree we need more sit down restaurants between 9 Mile and Century. You did forget one, though. 3 Maria’s Mexican restaurant is in the same shopping plaza as Grocery Outlet, and it’s really good. This food truck area will be a nice addition.

I think it is a great idea. I come and go off Archer onto Hwy 29 at least twice a day and have been dealing with the traffic at that intersection for over 40 years now. As long as people have a little patience, pay attention to the signage and lines painted in the roadway there should be no problem. That big wide white line painted in the road means to stop behind it not to put your rear wheels on it !!!
The county should put a north bound right turn lane and southbound left turn lane and that would alleviate a lot of the problems that we have now at that intersection and make them long enough for cars can get it in them before that vehicle traveling behind at 80 miles an hour hits there rear end.

I think its a great idea !!! I have not stopped and gotten coffee there yet but I keep telling myself I am going too. I come and go on Archer at least twice a day and I don’t see any problems with traffic as long as people pay attention and stay off those damn cell phones. And that big wide white stop line in the road means to stop behind it !!! It does not mean put your rear wheels on it…

This an accident waiting to happen. There is not enough room on Archer Rd to turn into there. I’m hit almost every day with people coming out of the Coffee Shop dodging the giant pothole in there driveway now. If they can’t keep up the maintenance on the one spot they have now. How will they maintain a fleet of food trucks? Not to mention the issues it will cause on Old Hwy 29 and Archer Rd. Sure they are not proposing 2 traffic lights, which will be required. How about the train which blocks the road, and traffic backs up. There goes Gonzalez to hell and a hand basket. Move to Los Angeles and set up your food truck city.

I am happy to see some new things coming out our way. But this not a good area. There has been so many accidents in this area. Can signs be posted to exit only going to Old Palafox aka Hwy 95a?

This is great! There is plenty of room for more eateries up in our area (above Gonzales). It will be wonderful to have some choices amd support local vendors.

My only note after going over the drawing (above) is the design of the handicap parking spot. As shown, the hashed area that would allow for van-accessible parking (wheelchair-adapted vans with side ramps) is on the incorrect side of the parking spot. Head-in HC parking spots should have the hashed area on the passenger side of the vehicle, not the driver’s side. Otherwise, a ramped wheelchair van like mine would have to back in to the parking spot, and would be facing outward into the lane of traffic rather than flowing in the one-way pattern shown.

You know, I like our charming little community being as quiet as it is…except Our PaperMill…that place makes a lot of us good money….and I don’t want to see a lot of growth but we all know that’s inevitable. This food truck court? I like the idea. If they aren’t going to put in any good residential restaurants then by all means, put something like this on that property. Goodness knows we have our fare share of fast food restaurants. The only places to sit down and eat north of 9 Mile road up to Century is Waffle House, Miss Hattie Mays and our beloved Jimmy’s Grill. We have a lot of AUsome food trucks in/around who are forced to set up wherever they can get permission. I like this idea.
