Another wat for Gomez to try and get all his cronies in city hall. Wake up people of Century and vote NO on these amendments for Century charter. Century is falling apart and not one person is looking for ways to fix the problem. It seems to me it is all about spending money and no oversight.

Bender disqualifies Childers for not meeting a deadline.

Enforce the law evenly and consistently.

Shread the ballots with the charter changes and reprint and get the LEGAL ones in the mail.

Have SAO look into hamfisted attempt at a power grab from Gomez.

C’mon Bender, do your appointed job and refuse the unauthorized ballot initiatives. If the town didn’t meet the deadline for the election, then this is a non-issue. Destroy the printed ballots, and print correct ones ASAP! Remember, you didn’t give your opponent in the primary the opportunity to correct a minor error before you declared yourself the winner. There fixed it for you.

So what Gomez has done (again) is postpone any discussion or vote until the last minute. That way it needs to be done immediately with no time to make any changes. I can’t believe nobody stands up to Gomez and says NO!

Yeah you should expect the council to approve, probably a 4-1 vote.

But just like Escambia County voters, century voters will approve. No amendment placed on a ballot will be voted down.

I’m not the best at reading all the legal jargon in these Amendments. However, they all seem to give Mayor Gomez more power to do as he pleases with the town’s money. Probably for himself and help his buddies. My unsolicited opinion would be for the Council to vote NO on these. However, a few years ago, Escambia County voters voted to allow School Board to decide Superintendent gave up the right to vote. So I don’t have much hope that the Century Council is any smarter. They probably don’t want to be bothered with responsibility anyway. If they vote to allow these on the ballot, might as well dissolve the Council and allow Century to be run by dictatorship.

I have been watching the shenanigans of the mayors office for quite some time. Who has the the lawful oversight into the doings of the town leaders, and why hasn’t the state officials staged a surprise visit to look into the books and records of these people? Just asking….
