I have a CC permit, TWIC and merchant marine documents, all require background checks, last two pistols that I purchased required background checks, even with all the checks that I go through, still took several hours

Y’all are all mistaken. Retailers are required to perform a background check for any firearm sales, but private sellers are not.

jb, you clearly have never purchased a firearm in FL. If a person doesn’t have a concealed carry permit, then a background check with 3 day wait period is required.

@jb….where are there no background checks to purchase a firearm? I’m not sure where you are but in Florida, for a LAW ABIDING CITIZEN, a state and Federal background check is REQUIRED! A background wouldn’t have been done on this CONVICTED FELON and recipient of past drug offenses… the 2nd Amendment says that everyone…LAW ABIDING CITIZENS…Have the RIGHT to bear arms! The laws says people like this fella CANNOT possess a firearm. It doesn’t matter who is in office. We, LAW ABIDING CITIZENS have THAT RIGHT! Your spewing of hatred and bringing up politics in this shows you are oblivious to what the Constitution and Law says…I could go on and on with you about the rest of your content but you don’t seem like the type to have the ability to listen to both sides without you having a meltdown. Now, I’m in no way putting you down nor am I bashing you for your views. I just hope that you can remove the hatred from your vision and understand the laws and EXACTLY what the constitution says…I hope you have a very BLESSED day…I will not respond to your comments afterwards here. well since there is zero background check-and you can buy any kind of gun just as easy as a pair of expensive shoes–what did you expect???? and it will only get worse because the second amendment says EVERYONE can have a gun–well your loser governor should be happy and so should the republicans that fight harder for that then their wives and daughter’s body or the right to vote!! explanation required

I am beginning to think the number of felons carrying firearms as a percentage of all felons is higher than their non-felon citizens. One should be able to easily conclude gun laws only affect law abiding citizens.
