Instead of an offset that makes left turns harder for trucks. Make that segment straight through and right turns only, while keeping the existing road for left hand turns.

It would be easier to make the alignment happen on the West Quintette Rd side of the road by curving the road south about 200′ to the west of Stacy road then back to the east once it aligns with East Quintette. Probably cost a little more but would make for a square intersection. And I hope the new intersection has a traffic light.

As long as the person designing the new interchange has had nothing to do with the debacle at 29 and I-10 it may have a chance of being a decent, productive and safe transition.

@EMD “why can’t the text payers vote on such things” … as much as I hate the idea of another c-store, the last I checked, we live in a free state where we can build on our own properties without having our neighbors vote to allow it. Sounds like you want a county-wide HOA based off your likes and dislikes?

Why do you people make a mountain out of a moe hill. Leave quintette the way it is add the new plan just for straight and right turn only. Is that to hard to figure out.all you engineer need to go back and get your money back for your degree.

@B and Ward…I still agree that this intersection is and could still be a potential hazardous turn for many vehicles and trucks. After looking at the drawing I wonder why the west bound traffic flow on Quintette Rd could a three lanes stop instead of two. Having three lanes there could improve the flow as well as safety onto the sound bound Hwy 95A. The lanes (from south to north) would left turn only, center lane would straight across only and the right for right turns only. I see the move for this. It would not be a bad idea if the left turn lane will the time for advance turning like you see elsewhere around town. This area is growing with new neighborhoods and it needs to some safety issues looked at very carefully.

@W. Ward – if I might, a quick check of the photograph of the quintette improvement might have the answer to ability of trucks to turn south on 95A.

the photo only shows the center line of 95A – the pavement will extend from the center line of the one shown in the photo to the existing edge where it is now.

everything from the grassline on the south side of quintette to the white line in the photo on the north side of quintette will be paved. a truck headed west on quintette to a left turn north on 95A will have a ton of room – even if they turn the cab of the truck to align with the centerline in the photo. once it is the truck’s turn to go, they won’t have any trouble at all.

@W.Ward You are so correct . Since l live north of Quintette Rd. you can bet l won’t be beside a log truck turning south.

The log trucks can continue on westbound quintette rd. Instead of using 95A to bypass the weigh station on hwy. 29
