Curious where you sourced your cost info. I don’t see those claims as being factual unless the costs include attorney fees in appeals. And if so, those fees are also included in murderers who are imprisoned for life.

Assuming you’re the same Bill T I’ve chatted with in the past, AGAIN: capital punishment is significantly more expensive than life in prison. The reason it’s so expensive is because of the lengthy appeals process. We could make capital punishment a lot cheaper, but that would result in significantly more innocent people being executed for crimes they didn’t commit.

How many innocent people are you comfortable with killing? How expensive money do you think the government should spend on someone before we discuss killing them as a cost saving measure? My mom is on Social Security, should we be talking about murdering her to save taxpayer funds?

@justwow, and it costs $3-4 million to execute them. It is best to leave them in for life, it is more cost-effective. Finish your research into prison costs, instead of copy-pasting the first Google result. So execution to save money is not a valid argument, and no one uses a cheap bullet for state executions.

But in prison he may live another 60 years on tax payers dollars!!! I hope now you fully understand what is meant by this I was beginning to think ya lost ya mind !!!!!

As of July 2023, the average time on Florida Death Row is 23 years, according to the Florida Dept of Corrections. Apparently one guy has been on there for over 45 years. If this guys is convicted and sentenced to death, He is more likely to die of old age then execution and in the meantime, the State will pick up his legal fees estimated to run between $500K- $1M per death row inmate.

Rest in peace, Rosa Kramer. Every murder victim deserves respect, remembrance, and justice. If convicted and all facts verified with no mistakes or corruption, this man should receive the death penalty in less than 10 years. Alabama just executed a convict who murdered a man in 1998. That is way too long for a family to wait for justice.

The prison sentences for abusing/killing your spouse/SO and child abuse/molestation needs to be standardized and harsh. I know it will never stop it because they always think they can lie their way out of it but it at least some of them could be taken off the streets forever
