I think Lou meant to type “boots” but the auto-correct got it wrong.
And I would say that the presence was there. After all it was a deputy on the scene that was accidently involved. The driver of the Kia could not see the deputy’s vehicle because of the SUV behind the deputy. We don’t know for sure what the distraction was, Bill, but we do know that cell phones cause a lot of distractions. It’s not the only distraction but is an often occurring one. Yesterday I saw a driver holding a small puppy by the driver’s window while moving through and intersection. Not a good idea.

What exactly is a “booth” on the ground? Like a fair ticket booth? Popcorn booth? I’m confused how a booth will stop car accidents, but I’m eager to learn.

It will always happen here and everywhere else why ? Because accidents happen and more and more people Don’t pay attention to what they are doing when driving !!! Either cellphones or other distractions keep them from paying attention to the road !! But others are quick to want to add red lights and every kind of so called help mechanism available !!!! Well until people learn to drive and I mean drive on the road only this is exactly what will happen every time!!!!!!!

Our area is plague with accidents everyday. 29, 297a , 97. Fatalities often too. We need more booths on the ground to enforce traffic laws in order to have compliance by drivers. Free for all needs to stop. BOOTHS on the ground is the only solution.

How many accident are there on Highway 29 per month. I willing to bet there are at least 4 to 8 a week from major to minor accidents. But we still only see sporadic enforcement of traffic laws. Mainly in front of International Paper starting at Babcocks furniture and ending by grocery advantage. If drivers knew law enforcement would actually issue tickets for speeding, texting, live streaming videos maybe we would have less accidents. Starting at 9 mile road all the way to Century. Just maybe people will slow down and pay attention.

Person driving the Kia was not paying attention, they did not slow down at all and smacked into the dodge causing to hit the sheriffs vehicle and he hit the back of the white van. I was right there when it happened.
