Corporations exist to make profits for their shareholders, so as long as they have a product that you need to continue functioning in modern society (food, shelter, gas, etc), they will continue to increase the price as much as possible to maximize their bottom line. @foodORgas

But I think you can safely say if the price per gallon starts with a $3.XX, its too much. As a comedian recently noted, he remembered going to the gas station as a young man and it not being a decision between, "Do I get Gas or eat this week".
