Private EMS makes a profit for themselves. What they should do is contract a private EMS service to do the transfers. Charge the private agency a premium to allow them to run the transfers that they can recoup from billing for the transports. That way County EMS has a set amount of money from that contract at the beginning and doesn’t have to actually run the transfers so they can focus on 911. EMS makes a profit for the county. Private EMS makes a profit for themselves.
