The current state of affairs that Century is facing is the result of many, many years of mismanagement and other offenses, and if anyone believes differently, then they are sorely mistaken. I just hope and pray that someone will be able to uncover all that has occurred over the years. And although most people seem to want to condemn the current council for the state of affairs concerning Century, it is only because of the current council that they’re finally trying to get to the bottom of what has been going on with Century’s finances for all of these years. They seem to be determined to find out what has been going on. They need outside help to accomplish this.

@NCP. They aren’t responding because they don’t see an issue! And it’s not all previous administrations either. For instance, Mr Gomez has been on the Council since 2017. There may be a Mayor, but the Council is in charge and casts the votes to make things happen. Or not happen. Like buying Christmas decorations….

Why aren’t any of the Century politicians responding? If the violations, infractions and oversights were from previous administrations then why has there been no effort for correction by those currently in office?

OIG cover DOS. Proper procedure by statute is a report to JLAC. Century was suppose to self report to JLAC a deteriorating financial condition. JLAC sends emails and has meetings.

I hope the windows still open and shut up in those offices cause I got a feeling there’s going to be a lot of dust flying while trying to hurry and make sure all the T’s are crossed and all the i’s are dotted . I just wished they hadn’t announced it on a bullhorn that they was coming and I think this could’ve been more interesting . I’m just wondering if there’s anyway to track , with legit receipts , where all the money from grants or wherever it came from , where was it all spent ? Thanks NorthEscambia for all you do to keep us informed.
