I’m more concerned that parents wasn’t notified about this incident! Regardless of it wasn’t or was real! We the parents have the right to know when something like this takes place instead of reading about it on Northescambia.com!

This was brought to my attention over the weekend after hearing my child and his friend talking about it. The kid had already been suspended and was back at school before I had heard about it!!! The school should have been put on lockdown and parents notified until the “gun” was inspected. Nothing was done to ensure the safety of the children in the school. Instead they were told to not talk about it amongst themselves because it would “get out” and become a bigger issue than what it was. Excuse me??? Some of the teachers at Bratt had no idea about this until this weekend. Do better

@Bina and @ parentsof brattkids yall are exactly right and my opinion only my opinion they should of done something to the student im sure he was scared to death bc of the situation bc hes only in Elementary but how are they gonna learn.even if he has to pick up paper during P.E something !.this world is revolving around guns its just so so sad…

It’s crazy that this situation was swept under the rug and parents wasn’t notified about this situation. Why weren’t parents notified about this? My kid was in the a classroom that this happened in and yet nothing was said to parents. Kids were told not to talk about the situation. The child who had it had no punishment. It’s crazy that if a “fake” gun made its way in just how easy it would be for a kid to bring a real one. This whole situation was handled poorly but the school!

I just don’t understand why the parents were never notified? I don’t care if it was fake or not. We are the parents to those children in that building we 100% deserve the right to know all things as it’s happening. This is the first I’m hearing of this and I’m very angry. The school districts need to remember who the parents are apparently because this isn’t the first thing we have read about that we had no clue of until way after.

Point a “fake” gun at a cop and find out real quick there is no such thing as a fake gun.
