I couldn’t resist!

It is easy to say something is sarcasm after seeing others pointing out how ridiculous it is. Perhaps it was. I don’t really see how people should be faulted for believing what someone writes. Or maybe I’m being sarcastic. How will you know?

People remember what was said or written long after they forget the tone of voice or any other clue they might have had to indicate that they were not serious. Add to it the old claim that many a truth is said in jest.

Please consider what was supposedly implied: Traffic signals and stop signs are worthless because people disregard them and have “accidents” anyway.

That is like saying laws forbidding certain behavior are worthless because people break the law. The truth of the fact is that there will be people who break the law. More do so if they believe they can get away with it, not be caught or not be charged or not be convicted or not be punished or that the punishment will be light enough that they don’t mind it.

There are other people who obey the law if they know what the law requires. And if they do not know what is required they will sometimes do things that should have had a law forbidding them.

All this may even be unrelated to the incident. We are not told any law was broken or traffic signal disregarded

If y’all remember, there was a flashing red (Kingsfield) and yellow (297A) there since at least the 1980s.

I got torpedoed by an RX-7 in 1985 at that intersection. Wound up upside down in the ditch in front of the first (now second) house on the south side of Kingsfield. Ripped the rear axle out from underneath my 1975 F 100 4 x 4.

Stuff happens…

The light has helped but nothing will ever stop accidents. Every person doesn’t think and drive the same, laws and rules are not followed by some. Besides, one of the drivers could have suffered a medical emergency. Don’t judge unless you were one of the drivers or a passenger in the vehicle. That’s my opinion on it.

Eating, texting, drinking, disciplining, dressing and impaired drivers cause accidents. I’ve seen all of these.

There is absolutely no reason for this to happen. People need to follow the rules of the road and not assume anyone is going to stop or slow down for you. If you pull out in front of someone, it’s 100% your fault. Put your phones down and keep your eyes on the road
