I was at the same light about 10 minutes ago. My lane turning west onto Muskogee was a green arrow and around 5 tob10 cars flew through on the southbound lane of 29.

Who can we notify to check this signal? They apparently are NOT sinced properly.

If the problem is SO well known, then why don’t people react appropriately and stop well back enough to see the light? Sheesh, that’s driving 101. As is,You pull up just until the line disappears,then stop.

And for those, who engage their mouth before engaging their brain, say, “Well, if you don’t pull up to the white line, it won’t trigger the light.” UMMM, if all 8 lanes are full of vehicles, then all lights will work. The whole system won’t stop working because you didn’t pull all the way up to the line.

@CB….I completely agree with you. I drive a full side 4 wheeler truck and pulling up to the lines painted on the asphalt that light is almost straight up from my windshield point of view. I wondered how that was going to work out for the drivers when I first seen them installed.. not to our advantage or safely. Also, the wind/storms from 2 weekends ago had that southbound light pole across the road steadily bouncing up and down. That’s a lot of weight being held up by the supporting fasteners. I know this was all built by engineering design/controls but fasteners stretch when put in such a manner of overuse/abuse as this bouncing of the weight of that top arm. Maybe this design has worked and is safe but I’m just curious if this manner of construction has ever failed and the top arm either broke free from where the fasteners connect the riser to the arm or the fasteners failed in service. Just my thoughts on this but, I do agree with @ CB as far as the placement of these lights for the path they are intended to direct. .

@tom, that is stopping at the line. I’ve never crossed the white line. When sitting at the line you literally have to lean down to see the light when you are the first vehicle.

@cb. If you stop at the stop line you can see the signal lights. Crossing the stop line toward the intersection, as many do, will put the light behind you. Pay attention to the marking on the road

The north/south bound lights right at this spot need to be switched around bad. When at the light in my gas truck you can’t even see the light because you’re right up on it. In my diesel truck it’s fine. I can only imagine for cars. Very poor design by the contractors who installed these lights.
