I was driving south through that intersection a couple weeks ago. Me and the driver in the lane next to me almost hit a couple cars that was turning left from 29 to 97. Both of us in the south bound lanes had to slam on our brakes to avoid the three cars turning on the flashing yellow arrows. The solution seems simple to me. Get rid of the yellow flashing turn arrows and replace them with solid red ones. This should make it so the southbound drivers don’t have to stop at the green light and get rear ended or t-boned by the person turning on the yellow arrow without yielding the right-of-way.

When someone falls a sleep at the wheel red lights dont matter. Those involved are lucky.

I live off of 29 between the redlights. No police activity. People run up on that light 70 80 mph.

It looks like two of the three were stopped. It was number 3 that hit number 2 in the rear and number 2 hit number 1 in the rear end. My guess is #1 didn’t stop and #2 was too close to #1 to avoid the collision. You should always leave at least a car length between you and the car in front of you. Been preventing accidents for 34 years and it does work.

Double the lights would be a good start. What we really need is common sense traffic control. I propose mandatory background checks and documented proof of intentions before crossing any intersection. All to be properly signed, notarized and taxed by the county. We could put an end to all of this senseless vehicle violence once and for all.

We need to stop placing the needs of those that travel over our right to ignore our surroundings.

turn ONLY on green arrow, no yield on green and then turn. People miss judge the time it takes to make a turn. Let’s face it, there is just too many accidents on 97, bad drivers or impaired??? There is a problem.
