Too many cars and people for the existing infrastructure. When are the developers going to be charged to pay for the mess on the roads in Escambia snd Santa Rosa?

Most of the recent accidents have involved work trucks with trailers. I commute thru that area daily, and the larger 350/3500 dually trucks with large box or heavy equipment trailers drive like they are unencumbered sports cars! If your rig is heavily laden, don’t drive like your truck and trailer can quickly react to changing conditions, especially on wet roads. Trucks towing trailers should stay in the right lane with the slower-moving traffic. Right or wrong, faster passenger cars expect they should be in the fast lane with trailers to the right. Anything else leads to excessive lane changing and inevitable accidents.

The Eastbound on ramp from Hwy 29 is dangerous as well. You enter from the left which is opposite) but not enough lane to get up to speed. Vehicles wiz past at full speed, in the very next lane,m and most folks tendency is to get over a lane, into traffic. BEWARE.

3 wrecks within 5 days same area. The merge lane needs redesigning. Make that lane a very long merge so traffic from the overpass can make adjustments in their lane changing. It doesn’t take a person with a college degree to figure out this problem. FDOT don’t care about this part of the State. They are too busy with road construction taking place in Central Florida. I-4 and I-75 > I was there recently and seeing is believing.

I travel the I-10 Eastbound on-ramp at Pine Forest every day and the big problem is the length of the acceleration lane and the fact that some drivers do not accelerate fast enough to match the speed of the I-10 traffic and it starts to slow things down. The increasing volume of Eastbound traffic in the morning that is coming from the West causes a slowdown too and people don’t either want to let you merge on to I-10 or they can’t get over because of the sheer volume of cars coming up in the left lane. This section of I-10 is clearly under capacity for the growing volume of traffic.

I can’t tell you how many trips I’ve taken to Pensacola and just about everytime traffic starts backing up due to a wreck. We’ve started just taking the back roads once we hit Wilcox road because I hate sitting in traffic at that area.

How many people have to get injured or die, FDOT? That stretch of I 10 and the exit with Pine Forest is long past due to get redone and increased to 6 lanes. This is the problem WE ALWAYS SAY we never get funding for anything til it’s to late. If this was located in Central and South Florida it would have been dealt with.

I agree with distracted driving. I also believe we have lost the common courtesy that we used to have. Everyone drives too close or they get cut off by someone pushing their way in that lane. Turn signals asking to be let in a lane are either not used or the person in the lane won’t let someone in. It is so much better to allow extra space than to never arrive or live the rest of your life in pain.
