As a grandparent and veteran of students at Pine Meadow Elementary, I have participated in their annual Veterans Day programs. I posted this after their program this year:
“As they do each year, the fantastic administration, teachers, and students at Pine Meadow Elementary, Pensacola again hosted a celebration to honor U.S. Military veterans. I have participated as a Navy Veteran and guest classroom speaker many years now as my grandchildren have attended this awesome school.
Grandson Patrick is a 5th grader; this is his last year at Pine Meadow. Granddaughter Shelby is in the 2nd grade and so I will be fortunate to attend this amazing event for a few more years, God willing.
As the many veterans walked down the hallway towards the assembly room where patriotic songs and stories were provided by the students, we were greeted by the children waving flags and shouting U.S.A. I have never completed this walk and watched their presentation without tears of joy and appreciation falling from my eyes.”
