These pedestrians seem to be everywhere on the hiways around town , to many times around nine mile and 29 area ive had to swerve to keep from hitting them . The homeless situation has gotten so bad and seems its not going to get any better . About 10 years ago on cornee 9 mile n old palafox a man on bicycle darted in front of my mother she hit him. She had never had a tradfic ticket in her life until then several years ago on chemstrand before they put bikewalk my daughters sideveiw mirror hit a man on bicycle , he was partially on rd and she said it was hit him or head on car traveling 45 mph ..Im not saying this man was but many of these people are causing these accidents by being partially on road or darting thru traffic and then they sue the driver . Ive heard of scams that they work at intersections and when the traffic is just moving slowly they find a car that looks like its worth a lot knowing they can sue n get money from insurance company’s. To many bikes and pedestrians , maybe escambia county needs to put bike paths everywhere . Is the law still pedestrions have the right of way ?

I wonder if the person that was hit was walking with someone? I got back from band competition and went to waffle house. As I was pulling in out of nowhere a guy and girl in grey clothing appeared in the middle of drive way. Scared me! That would of been enough time for them to walk down there.

It is horrible thing that 2 people chose to leave a fellow human being lying injured in the road. I hope they are located swiftly.
As a disclaimer, I AM NOT saying this is what happened in this case, but there are far too many pedestrians taking dangerous chances. Just 3 days ago, I observed a woman dressed in dark clothing step off the roadway seconds before oncoming traffic would’ve hit her. It was dark and raining and with lights from vehicles traveling in the opposite direction she had been impossible to see until she was out of the glare. This is only one example of many.
Praying for this person’s recovery.
