Thoughts on her contacting her brother instead of 9-1-1: it says she “texted” her family. Maybe she was in a situation where she needed to be fast and discrete about getting help. You can text 9-1-1, but that’s going to involve typing out location and details to a dispatcher that doesn’t know her situation. Family already knows where she lives, could already have an idea of what’s going on with fewer words, like “help, he broke in” for example. Send that to 9-1-1 and it’d be questionnaire: “can I call you? Where are you located? Do you need police? Are you in danger? Is he still in the home?” No matter her reasoning, I’m glad help arrived and she’s okay.

The person that could get there quicker was her brother and he did what needed to be done and may have saved his sisters life.

Why not let the cops deal with it? He would have been out of jail in no time and come back to get her!

When burglars see more of this happening – they may think twice about their chosen profession. You won’t leave from my house “lead free” if you break in, I promise you that!
Stupid thieves – you should know that the majority of us law abiding citizens are now “packing” 24/7 (cuz its legal now). You better think about that long and hard…idiots!
I realize this was some sort of domestic violence situation, but still – break in (no matter the situation) you could very easily end up dead nowadays! AND RIGHTLY SO!!!!
