I’m Tierra’s stepmom, he deserves the death penalty and her father and I are pushing for it! I raised her since she was 2 and treated her as my own child. We still just can’t wrap our heads around this and my daughter, her half sister is having it the worst! Rachel DeRise will get hers too, we plan on pushing for accessory to murder. Tierra’s dad had his birthday the next day and this was his present from 2 strangers. We. Are. Mad.

The felony murder laws haven’t been applied here, so your comment is irrelevant. At this point, it seems that they don’t believe she was a part of the murder. As I said, the article doesn’t give us any further information than that she got in a fight with the victim, NOT that her actions contributed to the death of the victim.

So is not knowing 5he laws in Florida…Under Florida’s “felony murder rule,” someone can be sentenced to life in prison even if they did not kill someone, even if they weren’t there and even if they didn’t know….like the guy who is serving life in prison for loaning his roommate his car keys.

Reading comprehension is a HUGE problem, obviously. The article says that she fought with the victim, then this “wonderful boyfriend” of hers cold cocked the victim, knocking her unconscious, after which he continued to beat her, then he pulled a gun and shot her 7 times. Nowhere does it say that DeRise did anything other than get into a fight with the victim, hence the misdemeanor battery charge.

For all we know, she was trying to stop him. The article simply doesn’t say. You folks don’t need to work out…you get enough exercise jumping to conclusions.

@ J the G….WHAT PART OF HITTING ANY FEMALE IS OK IN YOUR MIND? There’s no excuse to touch/strike a female no matter the situation unless it was a life/death situation and i fail to see where she posed a threat to him especially when she was blindsided by his fist and knocked unconscious and they continued beating her then shot her. I guess you and I were raised differently.

Death penalty for him, life for her. This was pure wickedness. She gets knocked out, then beaten, then gets shot SEVEN times!!!!! Nothing good comes from bars and alcohol. Mugs and Jugs is a trash place!
