Funny listening to these armchair critics on here… You have zero idea what happened unless you saw it all from your ivory tower.

I know the people involved in this, please say a prayer. So far everyone is okay, with a few fairly lengthy injury recoveries, but no one died. THAT is the silver lining in all of this.

REGARDING:
Old secondary road from the good old boy days of the Florida State Road Department. 1930’s design, nearly a hundred years old.”

The design might be but not the road methinks. I remember hearing Carl Peterson talk about getting it built and know the bridge formerly built near Pine Barren Road was built in 1967.

But I do agree improvements would help and hope these recover.

I live a mile from this spot on 196 and both cars and trucks go way too fast down these hills and over the narrow bridges. Speed limit is 55 but I’ve been passed by trucks going way faster. Never a good sound hearing EMS going down this road or Hwy 99.

This is a sad, and somber situation.
Those people who are insisting that a bad road was responsible: you are wrong !!!
This portion of road was reworked recently.
I’m not going to try and place blame on anyone, because I do not know the facts.
But one thing is certain, the road had no fault in causing this accident.
