This is not aimed towards this incident but just a general statement.. After 20 plus years in Law Enforcement and seeing so many accidents, I never understood why people somehow believe that drivers can see them at night.. Even cyclists

Legal Action against the restaurant? Why would it be their fault? Why even mention legal action at this point? This was a terrible ACCIDENT, so many factors could come into play here. Also, put yourself in the driver’s place, they have families too, and are probably really emotional about this as well. Someone going to the store and someone steps out from behind one of the orange barrels. How horrible for all!! Too many lawyer commercials these days! Prayers for all families involved!

My husband pulled up in that parking lot across the highway a while back and I said. “I am not going to walk across that road — but period.”

He pulled over to the other in front of the restaurant and we waited until someone left, then took their spot.

I cross this road about two times a month for takeout . It is very dangerous but I patiently wait sometimes up to 15 minutes to safely cross the road . You just have to be patient and wait for a break in the traffic . So sad this happened. Prayers for all involved.

I’m an employee at the Whataburger up the road. Saw the first 2 ESCO deputies head down there flyin through. 5 minutes later an ambulance followed suit with the EMS captain. Next thing I know FHP is at the intersection by the CVS and railroad crossing closing the whole road off. Prayers to the families involved and I hope all goes well for them. If people would put their attention on the road we wouldn’t have this issue, he even had 2 kids with him. Customer came in and said exactly “I sure hope there wasn’t any kids involved.” Sometimes things just aren’t as they seem, I sure do pray things get better for everyone.

Such a tragic accident, prayers for these ladies. This is a very bad location for a restaurant, with having to park across a 4 lane, construction worked hwy that you have to walk across just to eat, they need a walkover; like in front of West Florida Hospital

They need to make a walk way from the parking lot to the resurant. Like a tall bridge so trucks won’t hit top of it.

I knew it was just a matter of time. They need a red light and walk light there. People cross the road all the time to eat there cause there is nowhere else to park. While they are doing the construction they should fix this issue before someone else is hurt or worse. I’ve been saying this.

The sheriff’s don’t do anything about speeders. Flat out. I’ll follow the speed limit and get passed by people in a 35 that are probably doing 50.
