PTL the kayaker was able to get to shore safely. That river will rise on you in a heartbeat. It’s not just the rains we get around here but mostly the rains from our Northern areas that feed this stretch of waterway. I remember years ago when we camped/hunted Parker’s Island. We saw the water level rise several feet in just a few hours and for a brief time we got turned around in there. I know many know this but I’m going to say it anyways, have a float plan and check in periodically with someone on land. Those WATERPROOF GPS enabled radios are worth their money. Again, I’m glad the boater got back safely and as always, big THANKS to those who responded and helped get this person back home to their family.
