ECUA consistently wastes money and charges the public for inept leadership and mismanagement. We need to abolish this government organization and return to private garbage pickup. ECUA couldn’t compete in Santa Rosa and lost the bid. If they didn’t have a mandate over Escambia County we could get better service like Santa Rosa residents do. The residents of North Escambia received better service under BFI than ECUA,. We had twice the pickups for the same money. Municipal services almost never operate as efficiently as privately owned. Look at any of the northern states and the hassles they endure because government doesn’t do anything efficiently.

Terrible service. Missed regular pick ups, yard debris never pick up, cans left half full. Perdido key when you have no other choice but to take it there, you are treated like what they are supposed to pick up and processed. Call costumer service and you will get someone with an attitude and no resolution. Big bureaucratic organization with total disregard for their mission to tax payers. I said privatized it, we the citizens tax payers will get better service and rates.

I absolutely love this new rule about not putting your junk out prior to 48 hours. I hope people read this article and adhere to these rules.

Many times neighbors will put their junk out the day after trash pick up. And then everybody in the neighborhood gets to look at it for a week.

I have no problem with ECUA. I appreciate the good job that they do. Complainers will appreciate the good job they do if they decide to go on strike like New York did years ago. Trash in the streets for weeks and weeks and weeks.

Ecua is WORTHLESS. I complained to Vicki Campbell multiple times about them not picking up large items on my rd. This just happened again 2 weeks ago. I even called and spoke to a gentleman the week before just to be sure they pick it up. Did they? No! Whole place is a joke. Trash cans half emptied or missed completely. They will just vote to raise their own rates and deliver horrible service.

I have always called ahead for bulk items pick up. Nobody wants to see a refrigerator or a couch sitting beside the road for weeks. When we call them ahead of time, they’ve always picked up our items the following day as requested.

My neighbor had “large toys” set out for pick-up a long time. No one would touch them
