He has to serve 3 year day for day on the gun charge which means he gets no gain time for three 3 years for the gun but he doing them 30 sad but that’s life

The gun charge has a minimum sentence of three years with no time taken off for good behavior. But the next 27 years he’ll get time taken off.

I’m a little confused. He was sentenced to 30 years, but only has to serve three years day-for-day? Does that mean he can be released after only three years?
