@Michelle it wasn't an accident it was negligence. I have worked fire and EMS for 14 years and all motor vehicle "accidents" are a result of negligence on the part of one or both parties involved. Causal factors include speeding, impairment and distracted driving. There is a flashing light 100' from the intersection, there is no reason to not know it was coming up and to slow down.

I live in the Kings Ridge neighborhood and can tell you first hand we have over a thousand cars come through in just a couple of days. The county is very aware of
the accidents and problems with the Very disrespectful drivers that use this as a shortcut plus the drivers from Tate high school. The first house on the corner has been hit 8 times not to mention the destruction of signs and people’s property. The speed limit signs are totally
Ignored. There was a blinking stop sign added at one time but after it was run over a couple of times it was replaced with a regular one.The intersection needs to be closed to our neighborhood and a stop light
added. It’s a very dangerous intersection.

I’ve lived here on west Roberts my entire life. Before the subdivision was built the pine trees leaned from being stuck so many times. The big yellow sign with arrows going both ways was replaced every few months from being hit. A traffic light might be a solution to get everyone’s attention at night.

How bout just holding the drivers accountable, if obeying the traffic law this would not have happened. It like making firearms more difficult for law abiding citizens to purchase and thinking it prevents criminals from obtaining firearms.

@Frank, deputies don’t receive money for tickets issued, nor is there a quota for how many tickets to write.

ENOUGH! ENOUGH! ENOUGH! This is poor engineering! Pine Forest was never suppose to go through King's Ridge subdivision to Kings Field Road. Something must be done! I think a turnabout with flashing lights would be the best thing for this intersection. It would slow everything down and bring sone level of safety.

I always read wise guys saying it’s not the roads fault. True, but let’s help the idiots before they kill us. Build some flashers on raised cement poles.

Yeah, I actually live in that area and travel that road daily. It has always been a sore spot but not as bad as some may want you to believe. Drunk drivers have smashed a couple houses and there are some young punks that used to do doughnuts at that intersection but that was a few years ago before traffic really picked up.

What we really need there is a red light and I know some may not like it but I've sat at that stop sign for up to 5 minutes waiting for traffic to clear to make a left turn. Oncoming vehicles rarely signal that they are turning so you either wait for it to clear or you take a gamble and pray they are turning (most do).

The influx of traffic is due to everyone finding out it's a shortcut (and a good one to boot) for getting to north hwy 29 when coming from west nine mile. thank you, Navy Federal, for that lol. Soon there will be even more thanks to the three new subdivisions being built at the end of W. Roberts.

Speaking of those new subdivisions at the end of W. Robets do they know how many vehicles have collided with those trees on the corner? So many they in fact cut them down some 13 years ago then the drunk/distracted drivers just rolled into an empty field....now they will roll into someone's bedroom.

"A raised flashing light". Nope. There was one, but the idiots kept hitting it even when it was moved. We have zero traffic enforcement on pine forest/west roberts road. ZERO.
