Accidents with injuries and near misses were a daily occurrence. It took writing letters to City, County, and State officials to have an engineer come out and evaluate the situation. They must have realized the danger of allowing vehicles to turn left on a green light as they immediately changed it to a turn-on arrow only. Today, the intersection has no crashes of that kind. I live out here and I am often making that same left hand turn that the truck was making when the accident happened. That left hand turn seriously needs to be a red green turn arrow only. If the opposing turn lane has traffic, it’s nearly impossible to see the cars coming up the hill to the intersection. If so, perhaps changing the lights for 9 mile traffic to allow left turns only on an arrow would help reduce these accidents. Parents fly up and down Rebel Rd between 9 mile and Mobile highway to pick up their kids from Beulah Middle. Kids are walking home from school too. There are NO SPEED BUMPS to make them slow down!!!!
