My father was a nose gunner and assistant engineer on a B-24J in the Pacific Theater of operations. I have ridden in a B-24J and it was very memorable. Expensive but worth every penny.

We took our grandson today. Both of his great grandfathers served in WWII. We are passing that family history on. I shared it for years with my history students. Thank you Commemorative Air Force for working like you do to share this part of our history. Wonderful experience every time we go. One day I plan to fly on a B-17….❤️ Great photos Perry!

My Father Captian Robert D Falkner flew B24’s in WWII and Korea. I-would very much be honored to have the opportunity to fly in this aircraft. He was shot down over enemy territory and made it back to continue to fly more missions. His plane was the “flying outhouse”. He wrote a really good book called the “long way home” years after the war about his exploits when he was shot down. It starts with him taking off from the US advancing the throttles and describing the sound and feeling the power of the new B24 he was delivering to Europe for his first tour of duty. He made it back to the Allies as did the rest of his crew. When he wasn’t flying missions he was doing magic shows for the USO. I so respect and honor those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy.
