Saw the writing on the wall last year and dipped into the retirement savings to do a grid tie solar system. 7.2kwh system covers most of my bill. Glad I did. I hate to see greedy companies fleece us.

I would love to hear what you think is happening in Washington DC that is forcing poor little FPL to raise their rates so much.

Even *if* inflation was manufactured at the federal level, it wouldn’t explain why energy rates are increasing so much faster in Florida than the rest of the country.

This is what happens when you have a monopoly on a service or product. No one can complain and even those who are elected or appointed by electors on boards who could control this does nothing. Unfortunately if they made it feasible to install solar power for most residential purposes then you would start seeing a back track in cost. This is where we are at right now and we have placed our selfs there. What can we do ? Let’s quit being democrat or republicans and become Americans again. Stand together and say enough is enough. We put people in office to serve the needs of the people of their state and or district, not their party.

Why does our light bill keep on going up but no one else’s does they need to figure something out that is crazy I’m not going to keep on paying a high light bill. They need to figure something out and fast quit charging people extra money for there debt. Is crap

Let’s take a look at all our utilities. FPL and Cox have a strangle hold over the area and there for can charge however much they want. Pretty insane considering how expensive everything is getting.

Where is it written that a public service provider must continually turn a profit? At what point do the “recovery fees” brought on by storm damage come to an end? Do these “recovery fees” simply become windfall profits for FPL? Why isn’t FPL insured against storm damage? Even more thought provoking – why does FPL not utilize better installation technology to PREVENT storm damage? Where are the cost savings from all these solar farms? Are they simply more windfall profits? FPL has embarked on a rate increase campaign since the purchase of Southern Company. Customer service and satisfaction has gone down (seriously), while rates climb. FPL’s goal is/was to bring NWF rates on par with South Florida. An independent audit of FPL is called for. From appearances, FPL may be guilty of racketeering.

Steve; sounds to me like you have extra money to throw away so how about we complainers send you our raised bill and let you pay it! Not all of us are in a position to afford a higher rate. Higher prices at the grocery stores, higher fuel cost at the pump and the prime rate continues to soar so before you point fingers at people who live on a retirement income, please show a little compassion!
