Right or wrong it's up to them to say and decide but I fail to see the justification. Is the population too low? Percent registration too low? Voter turnout too low? If you are satisfied -- or even dissatisfied -- with all candidates, it is easy to leave the actual selection to others. Population will grow eventually as the nation fills up. As to percentage of registered voters, that is independent of whether they live in the town or elsewhere. Some avoid politics for religious reasons, not wanting to get entangled in worldly affairs. This is somewhat reasonable since it is a poor Christian witness to be pushing for the election of unrepentant sinners or other flawed people. You can care for others without thinking they are safe to keep your money, car keys, daughter, son, or life. Regardless, I wish all who participated well, winners and losers.
