Steve – you asked if there is an agency that someone could reach out to for help. The first place to reach out to would be the NW Florida Area Agency on Aging. They have case managers who can visit and make an assessment on services or if there are signs of elder abuse or neglect.

OMG poor fella!! I’m in tears this the most disgusting thing I’ve read in awhile. Poor poor man… I sure hope he can get the help and attention he needs. This hurts me because I’ve had it happen to me. It was short term 8-12h, just laying there, looking at the ceiling, wondering when or if anyone will ever come by to help, or if anyone even cared. I’ve just about lost faith in humanity, not many people care about anything today but themselves. This story is case-in-point. It took a lot but I was able to claw my way back from the brink. I hope this man can too. Much love brother and God loves you even though it may not seem like it.

Her dad was there for her when she needed her phone bill paid and electric bill was due and needed him to buy her a place to live. Now he needs her help and she is no where to be found. Letting the poor man barely survive in his own filth. What a great daughter.

@Steve, while you make some good points, she still had knowledge of his condition. She also left him there while taking his wallet and cell phone. He had no way to call for help or order food. If it wasn’t for the family friend that contacted authorities. he probably would’ve had a slow miserable death.
