The proper way to yield to an ambulance is to, when possible, move to the right, or nearest curb in an urban area, and safely reduce speed and come to a stop. I drive ambulances and we are trained to pass everyone we can on their left side. If everyone moves to the right it better allows ambulance operators to predict the movement of traffic and navigate it safely. DO NOT JUST SLAM ON THE BRAKES WHEN YOU SEE AN AMBULANCE BEHIND YOU.
