Lot of homes not just in the Bristol subdivision but many others were build in the seventies more than 20 feet from the creek. And definitely has not stand off for river expansion. The county and taxpayers other than owners have not paid a penny in in repairs. Simple holding ponds woul have contained the water as well as proper drainage. Stupid is the ignorant comments like yours caring only for themselves ignoring the pain and suffering of others while allowing the COUNTY to do nothing.

You never should of been allowed to build a home 20 feet from the only drainage river in the zone. The rest of the Eleven Mile creek has plenty of stand off to account for rapid river expansion during heavy rains like the ones we had during the flood except for this housing development and Ashbury. The rest of the county is tired of paying for people to live in stupid places. This was a failure of our zoning and planning board that allowed this to happen. You build in a unsafe spot and now we all have to spend millions in county tax dollars to make your spot better.

Once again not a penny for the folks of Bristol park or dozens of home in the surrounding area that will be flooded in the future. It is like the pain, suffering and misery of many did not count in 2014, and hurricane Sally and in the future. The area will flood again, the elected officials will come for a foto.op, and that’s it. Nothing has been done no holding ponds, no creek work etc . These folks are our fellow citizens and taxpayers. Lots of them are retired folks. Somebody in-power should do something to bring resolution to this folks living with the knowledge that the area will flood again , and they can not do anything to fulfill the flood mitigation, just rebuild again.
