Sounds similar to “Those guns are so dangerous”. It not the road, it’s the dangerous driver who is possibly on alcohol, drugs, speeding, texting, putting on makeup, etc…

My wife and I travel Hwy 97 a lot, and yes there are a number of curves on that road that can be considered dangerous. But just as the other contributor wrote, it is the excessive speed of the drivers that is the main factor in the cause of the majority of the wrecks on hwy 97. Slow down and live. It is easier on the trees and utility poles, and may help to keep insurance premiums a bit lower also.

Eric M. I totally 100% agree with you. It is NOT THE ROAD. It’s the drivers. So many people say, “That road is so dangerous.” No, it’s not. The driver is the one that is dangerous. Praying for a fast and full recovery for the injured.

On almost all of these crashes, Luke the fatal one a few months back where a guy left the roadway and flew almost 200 feet, LA ding 12 feet up a pine tree, I can pull up my security camera video and see the same vehicle speeding by my house, generally doing 65 to 75 mph, just minutes before the crashes. People can blame the road all they want, but it’s 100% the drivers, not the road, that is to blame. I hope and pray those involved fully recover.
